Suno vs Udio

Quick verdict

Suno Pick Suno if you want complete songs with vocals and instrumentation from one prompt, fast — a favourite for background music and social clips, with commercial use on paid plans.

Udio Pick Udio if you write songs and want to shape them — its Styles system, voice controls and extend/remix editing give more control over melody, lyrics and arrangement.

Treblo Consider Treblo if budget decides it: song generation is unlimited on its free plan and its Pro plan undercuts both of these.

Suno — FAQ

Is Suno free?

Yes — a free plan lets you generate a limited number of songs; paid plans add downloads and commercial rights.

Can I use Suno songs commercially?

Commercial use is allowed on paid plans, within Suno’s terms.

Does Suno write lyrics?

Yes — it can generate lyrics from a prompt, or you can supply your own.

Udio — FAQ

Can I download songs I make on Udio?

Not currently. Since Udio's partnership with Universal Music Group began in October 2025, downloads of audio, video and stems have been disabled on all plans, and Udio has not announced a date for their return. Songs can be played and shared within Udio.

How much does Udio cost?

The free plan gives 10 credits a day up to 100 a month. Standard is $10/month (or $8/month billed annually) with 2,400 credits a month, and Pro is $30/month (or $24/month annually) with 6,000 credits. Extra credits are sold as top-ups.

Do Udio credits roll over?

No. Plan credits reset each month and unused credits are lost, on both the free allowance and paid plans.

What is the difference between Standard and Pro?

Pro roughly doubles the monthly credit allowance (6,000 vs 2,400), raises simultaneous generations from 6 songs to 10, and includes every feature. Standard already unlocks the main creative tools: Voice Control, editing, audio upload and style references.
