What file formats can I export?

Models export in GLB, FBX, OBJ and USD for game engines and DCC tools such as Blender, Unity and Unreal Engine. For 3D printing, Tripo can split a model into parts that fit your print bed and export slicer-ready files in 3MF, STL and OBJ.

Can I use Tripo models in commercial projects?

Yes, on paid plans: Pro, Max and Team include commercial use and private models. Tripo directs Free-plan users who need commercial rights and higher-quality output to upgrade.

Tripo is a browser-based AI 3D generator built by VAST, the company behind the TripoSR open-source reconstruction model (released with Stability AI under an MIT license). Working in Tripo Studio, you type a text prompt or upload a photo, sketch or concept art, and get a textured 3D model back in seconds, with multi-view images producing more accurate results when you have them.

What sets Tripo apart is the choice of geometry it produces. Its High Detail model captures sculpted detail at up to 2 million polygons for rendering, VFX and 3D printing, while Smart Mesh mode generates native quad meshes between 500 and 25,000 polygons with clean edge flow, so assets drop into Unity, Unreal or other engines without a retopology pass. Characters can be auto-rigged for animation, textures come as full PBR sets up to 8K, and print jobs can be auto-split into parts and exported in 3MF, STL or OBJ. It is aimed at game developers, 3D printing users and product visualisers who need usable geometry, not just a pretty preview.
